Story details are revealed today for SilverFin, a full-cast audio adventure, coming 29 October 2026.

The clock is ticking towards the release of the first Young Bond audio drama, SilverFin, and today Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications can reveal the episode titles and synopses.

Across two box sets, the sixteen half-hour episodes follow the teenage James Bond (Isaac Rouse) as he begins his schooling at Eton before travelling to Scotland, where he infiltrates the nightmarish Castle Hellebore and becomes the subject of an evil experiment.

He’ll need help from all of his friends to defeat a cruel enemy, and he’ll emerge from it a very different boy.

The eight episodes in SilverFin Part 1 are:

Episode 1: New Boy

On the shores of Loch Silverfin in the Highlands of Scotland, a deadly mystery is brewing. Meanwhile, five hundred miles away at Eton College, the ancient school is about to welcome its newest pupil: James Bond.

Episode 2: Mens Sana

While James is settling into his new life at Eton, his classics tutor, Mr Merriot, is keen for him to enter the Hellebore Cup. The brainchild of Lord Randolph Hellebore – American millionaire and father of odious school bully George – the event has been conceived to allow his son to win. Merriot thinks that James is in with a chance…

…but young George Hellebore doesn’t take kindly to competition.

Episode 3: The Hellebore Cup

As battle commences on the playing fields of Eton, so does a campaign of skullduggery and subterfuge. For the better boy to win, James must take matters into his own hands.

Episode 4: Triumph and Disaster

All is still to play for in the Hellebore Cup. But after victory and defeat… come the consequences.

Episode 5: Family Skeletons

Travelling to Scotland for the summer holidays with his roguish new friend, Red Kelly, in tow, James is reunited with his beloved Aunt Charmian and mysterious Uncle Max… and haunted by painful reminders of the past.

Episode 6: First Steps

Pinkerton agent Meatpacker Moran is investigating the disappearance of Lord Hellebore’s brother, Algar, and Red Kelly wants to know what has become of his young cousins, Jeannie and Alfie.

Are both mysteries somehow connected to the goings on at Castle Hellebore? And is George Hellebore’s vendetta against James Bond truly over?

Episode 7: Red and Circuses

Under the shadow of the big top, Bond and Red formulate a plan to visit Castle Hellebore for themselves, and fortune teller Madame Ouspenskaya utters a prophecy of blood… and death.

Episode 8: Castle Hellebore

Venturing onto the desolate moors, James and Red meet Wilder Lawless, a formidable young woman who may be able to help them find out what has happened to Red’s cousins.

Whatever is lurking beneath the Loch Silverfin’s dark waters, one thing is certain: Lord Hellebore’s domain is a very dangerous place to trespass.

And, SilverFin Part 2’s episodes are:

Episode 9: Blood Is Thicker

Uncle Max teaches James to drive, and as he tells the grim story of his wartime spying days to his eager nephew, George Hellebore makes his own discoveries up in the castle.

Episode 10: The Lion’s Den

James and Red return to the moors, but there’s no sign of Meatpacker. The only way to discover the secrets of Loch Silverfin now is to penetrate the fortress-like castle for themselves.

Episode 11: Alone

Forced to leave an injured Red in hiding, James must press on into the waking nightmare of Castle Hellebore… alone.

Episode 12: The Future of Warfare

Lord Hellebore is a man with a plan, and James Bond is his unwilling audience. As the true horror of the arms dealer’s vision sinks in, it seems that James is not only a witness to his foul experiments – but their latest victim.

Episode 13: Nobody Can Hold a Bond Forever

James is a prisoner in the castle, suffering the hellish side-effects of the foul SilverFin serum. Hope seems lost, and escape impossible… but there in the dark, Uncle Max’s words return to him.

Episode 14: A Friend in Need

A manhunt is under way… for James Bond! And with Lord Hellebore’s vile ghillie, Cleek MacSawney, leading the pack to find him, James needs all the friends he can get.

Episode 15: Hellfire

James, Wilder and the repentant George Hellebore are ready to take on the world. But Lord Hellebore’s reach is long, and his vengeance swift. If there’s light at the end of the tunnel, the only way to reach it is by going through hell…

Episode 16: End of the Road

Staring death in the face, James Bond is no longer the boy he was – but does he have what it takes to see his ordeal through to the end?

Alongside Isaac Rouse, the cast of Young Bond: SilverFin includes Charlotte McBurney (as Wilder Lawless), Charlie Higson (Mr Merriot), Miriam Margolyes (Cleek MacSawney), William Hope (Lord Hellebore), Miranda Raison (Aunt Charmian), Paterson Joseph (Dr Perseus Friend), Tim McInnerny (Uncle Max), Harry Marcus (Red Kelly), and Christopher Nathan (George Hellebore).

Writer and director Barnaby Edwards said: “The Young Bond novels are the story of the making of James Bond. In SilverFin, we meet Bond on his first day at Eton. He’s thirteen, polite, well-spoken, independent. He makes an enemy on his very first afternoon – a school bully – and this enmity will change Bond forever. It will end in blood, pain, loss and death.

“The first half of SilverFin sets up the plot and introduces the main players in this adventure. The latter half is almost non-stop action, as Bond is thrown into a world of international villainy every bit as dastardly as anything he will face as an adult. The stakes are huge and humanity itself is endangered. Can a thirteen-year-old schoolboy really save the world? In terms of highlights, all I’ll say is: eels.”

Producer Robert Valentine added: “The opening movement of SilverFin falls very neatly into the ‘private school adventure’ genre, with James Bond starting his first year at Eton, making friends and enemies, enjoying sporting victories, and all the while a sinister scheme bubbling away in the background. And then, in fine John Buchan style, we journey by train up into the Highlands of Scotland, where the adventure truly begins.”
